Easter Ham is a traditional American recipe for a classic dish of ham cooked in a bag or parcel with a pineapple, apple jelly and lemon juice marinade thickened with cornflour and which is typically served at Easter time. Easter Ham Recipe
Ingredients:
5kg (12 lb) fully-cooked whole ham (bone in)600g (1 1/3 lbs) crushed, tinned, pineapple, undrained
100g (1/2 cup) apple jelly
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Method:
Place all the ingredients, except the ham, in a saucepan and stir until the cornflour dissolves. Bring the mix to a boil and allow to simmer for about 1 minute. Place the ham in an Oven Cooking Bag (or form a parcel from strong aluminium foil). Pour the sauce over the ham in the bag and seal. Place in an oven pre-heated to 170ºC (325ºF), Gas Mark 3 for between 2 1/2 to 3 1/4 hours. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.Printable version of the Recipe
